A number of activities, programs and ministries are available for Seniors at Mitcham Baptist church. These are for the purpose of encouragement and spiritual development of those in the “second half” of their Christian journey. They focus on providing opportunities for the older members of our community to engage with each other and those of similar age in the wider community.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.2 Corinthians 4:16
As well as encouraging all believers to be praying individually at all times, we greatly value every opportunity for corporate Prayer times. These take place on various days and times during the week.
Seniors Bible Study
Once a week our Seniors gather for time of fellowship and a short bible study. It’s a great opportunity to encourage one another while digging deeper into God’s Word. It is usually followed by some afternoon tea and time to chat and relax.
Traditional Worship Service
Once or twice a year a Traditional Service happens at MBC on a Thursday at 11.30am, followed by lunch. Hymns from the Baptist hymnal are used, and a guest speaker is arranged.
Young in Heart Friendship Group
Come along and join us in the Simla Room on the first Monday of each month. Enjoy afternoon tea together as well as hear from a different speaker each month. We enjoy… Fun and Laughter • Informative Talks • Guest Entertainers • Caring for one another • and much more!
