COVID-19

The MBC COVID-19 Response Team (Matt, Rob, Owen, Ian) are meeting regularly to discuss the implications of the changing environment for the church. We will post information here as the situation changes.

New Check-In Process

Matt explains the new contact tracing check-in process that we are now required to follow when attending any of our church services onsite. If you have any questions or concerns then please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. 0

Easing Restrictions

The Victorian Government released a statement (link is here) regarding changes to restrictions for homes and churches. The new changes mean that the following new restrictions are in effect: Maximum of 30 people in a household per day Maximum of 100 gathering outdoors Masks are no longer mandatory indoors for religious gatherings. The CRT are connecting to bring the latest news from the BUV and to update our COVID-safe plan. If you ever need any more information about the current…

Stage 4 Lockdown

Due to the recently announced lock down, our Simla St premises will be closed from midnight tonight (12th Feb) until midnight Wednesday 17th. That means no ministries are able to run and you are not able to attend on site. Unfortunately church will not be in-person this Sunday but we are hoping to be able to run church online. Stay tuned for more details. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the Pastors, Cathy or Church Leadership.  Please stay…

CRT Update 15th January

CRT update The Covid Response Team met this week to monitor recent government announcements and how things have been travelling at MBC over summer.  Three items of news emerged which we wish to communicate: All people attending MBC services are encouraged to continue to be diligent with electronic signing-in via the established ticketing system or via the paper sheet at the door.  It is really important that we maintain this practice and not become complacent. All visitors to the church…

The following document is a collation of the responses from MBC members regarding the return to face to face meetings at Simla street. If you need more information about these figures please contact Rob Bell. 0

Covid-19 Update

MBC COVID Response Team 12 November 2020 The CRT met this week to consider and apply the recent changes by the government. There is more good news with the government further relaxing the restrictions. This will allow us to have church services onsite again. We are aiming for this to occur from the 29th November and are working through how we can do this, whilst complying with all the government requirements.  How we do Church will look a bit different: – there will be…

COVID-19 Update

COVID Response Team 26th October 2020 The CRT met this week to consider and apply the recent changes by the government.  At last there is some positive news developing for us!  The first point that we all need to make however, is the need for all of us to strictly abide by the MBC Covidsafe Policy and government rules whenever we meet as MBC groups onsite or offsite.  This involves distancing, facemasks, sanitising, signing-in and signing-out and following the Covidsafe…

COVID-19 Update

The COVID Response Team met again this week.  Given that we are in the middle of a level 4 lockdown there has been nothing much that we can decide or communicate.  In essence, here is where things stand: The church office is completely closed.  Staff are legally required to work from home.  That said, each of the team are working away and are available by phone. The only people permitted to attend the church building are those personnel rostered on…

COVID-19 Update

As per current State Government and BUV guidelines, all persons over 12 years of age who enter the church property are required to wear face coverings. The only exceptions are for those individuals who fall under specific categories outlined by the DHHS who are not required to wear coverings. Those who are speaking or singing as part of the services are not required to wear face covering during the production of the services but must wear them before and after…

COVID-19 Update

The CRT held its scheduled meeting this week.  Unfortunately given the latest government announcements, the situation we face as a church is the ongoing closure of the church building and the requirement of all MBC groups that meet offsite or in homes also to obey the new rules.  These rules only permit us to leave the house for certain reasons, none of which are for general religious activities.  The bulk of our church life will necessarily remain online for this…
